18/1/2017 MIND-MAPS ARE WHERE IT'S AT.We had a big Double Farley planning day the other day, to start the year off right. If you wanna get somewhere in business - or life - it's best to know the direction you're heading in, right? Before the meeting, I spent a couple of hours drawing this massive mind-map in order to present my ideas to Melita and Kevin. This is a whiteboard wall and is actually really big - I've used the panorama function on my iPhone to take a dodgy photograph of it, and it has compressed half the wall. I'm a really visual big-picture person, and in the past have found it really difficult to get my complex ideas across in meetings, and wondered why, One of the perks of working at Double Farley is utilising Melita's tonne of experience in adult education strategies... She was the one who suggested I use the the mind-map technique for my presentation, explained that words typed on A4 bits of paper wasn't always the best way to express blue-sky thinking, especially not with a visual brain like mine. Not only was it ridiculously fun to draw this mind-map, it cemented my ideas, and made me able to express them more eloquently. Mind-mapping, brainstorming, new ways of learning, we're all over it here at Double Farley. AuthorFleur Wickes Comments are closed.
